#1 It Rains. A lot. Be ready for it! (We're not called the lightning capital for nothin!)
For a place called the Sunshine State it sure does rain a lot. Always have your handy dandy umbrella with you in your car, briefcase/backpack/purse, and check the weather report here often!
With alot of rain comes HUMIDITY- which is always fun. It can also make Tampa a very hot place to be! Especially in the summer where highs are normally in the 90’s. You will definitely need a home with central AC.
#2 GET READY TO HAVE SOME FUN!
We have so many things to do here, from amusement parks like Busch Gardens and Adventure Island to our Lowry Park Zoo, we offer a friendly Downtown Tampa with tons of local shops and restaurants. And we are only roughly an hour away from Walt Disney World and Sea World...if your into that sorta thing!
Our nightlife option is always good too. Stop by Ybor City for great bars, pubs, and night clubs!
If you are more laid back and relaxed, hit up one of the many lounges and sip on a cocktail or enjoy one of the many selections of craft beer. While we’re talking about beer, we can’t forget Tampa’s extensive collection of breweries. You can put a spin on bar hopping and even take a craft beer tour of Tampa with Brew Bus.

Tampa has plenty of options when it comes to public transportation. If you’re looking for transportation downtown you can choose the Trolley, TECO Line Streetcar, a water taxi (yes, a taxi on the water), a regular taxi or the HART bus.
Three motor vehicle bridges cross Tampa Bay to Pinellas County from Tampa city limits: the Howard Frankland Bridge (I-275), the Courtney Campbell Causeway (SR 60), and the Gandy Bridge (U.S. 92).

Tampa is represented by teams in three major professional sports leagues: the National Football League( Buccaneers) , the National Hockey League ( The Tampa Bay Lightning), and Major League Baseball(The Tampa Bay Rays).
The NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning call Tampa home, while the Tampa Bay Rays of the MLB play across the bay in St. Petersburg. As indicated by their names, these teams, plus several other sports teams, represent the entire Tampa metropolitan area.
